Defensive midfielder signs one-year contract at King Power Stadium

Celeste to attend LCFC Women kit launch on Thursday 7 August

The 31-year-old signs a one-year contract at King Power Stadium following three years with Montpellier in the French Première Ligue and joins Amandine Miquel’s squad as a defence-minded midfielder.

Speaking on Foxes Hub, Celeste said: "I haven’t experienced playing in England yet, but I know it's one of the best leagues and competitions in the world.

"I am looking forward to challenging myself every day against the best players and hopefully helping the team as much as I can.”

Born in San Francisco, California, Celeste began her career with the California Golden Bears at the University of California before joining National Women’s Soccer League outfit Portland Thorns in 2016.

A successful spell in the top tier of the United States saw the midfielder help the Thorns to NWSL Challenge Cup victory in 2021.

Loan spells with Canberra United, Brisbane Roar and FC Fleury followed, before the former United States Under-23 international made a permanent switch to Italian side AC Milan in 2022.

Celeste made nine appearances for the ‘Rossonere’ in Serie A Femminile, scoring two goals in league competition, before moving to the south of France with Montpellier in the following June.

She has since delivered consistent performances in the French Première Ligue, making 64 appearances for Montpellier in all competitions across the last three seasons.

She arrives in Leicestershire as an experienced professional with over 200 senior appearances across four professional leagues to her name, further bolstering Amandine Miquel’s selection options ahead of the new 2025/26 Barclays Women’s Super League season.
