Ruud van Nistelrooy speaks ahead of Sunday's AFC Bournemouth fixture (4pm BST kick-off)
The Manager says Leicester City have no fresh injuries in the squad
He also discussed the striker position after Jamie Vardy's final game for City
City head to Vitality Stadium knowing their fate is already sealed this season, with relegation to the Sky Bet Championship being confirmed last month. Our form has improved over recent weeks, though, with seven points from a possible nine – including wins over fellow-relegated sides Southampton and Ipswich Town. Sunday’s game with the Cherries will be the first without Jamie Vardy, after the Premier League, FA Cup, Community Shield and two-time Championship winner signed off with his 200th goal on his 500th and final appearance against Ipswich.
The Manager was able to reveal on Friday that we will ‘go to Bournemouth with a similar squad’, confirming no new injuries in the camp, but we will be without Vardy.
“In the way we play, I think it won’t change a lot,” the Dutchman said, discussing the frontman position for this weekend. “With the 10 players around the striker position, how we want to play on and off the ball, filling the position with another striker won’t require a lot of difference in the type.
“Of course we need to decide who does that. Patson Daka is a type who also makes the deep runs, he is also quick in transitions, and I think there it can continue.”
