A record-breaking milestone

Kevin Phillips, at 40 years 191 days, became City's oldest ever marksman, breaking Arthur Chandler's 79-year-old record when scoring against Bournemouth in the Sky Bet Championship on 1 February, 2014. The only goal of the game, coming in the 81st minute, it propelled Leicester towards the league title.

Cup clashes in City’s favour

The Foxes triumphed in both the last FA Cup tie and the last League Cup tie between the sides, and although you have to go all the way back to September 1969 for the latter, when Leicester progressed into round four of the competition with a 2-0 away victory in front of 15,857 fans, the FA Cup clash was much more recent.

Abdul Fatawu scored the only goal during extra-time as Enzo Maresca’s side beat Premier League opposition in round five in February 2024.

Recent record

Each of the last two Premier League encounters, meanwhile, ended in 1-0 scorelines, with Facundo Buonanotte’s strike settling the reverse fixture at King Power Stadium earlier this term. In April 2023, however, it was the Cherries who came out on top; Philip Billing scoring the only goal on Filbert Way.
