  • City are due at Charlton Athletic in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday (12:30pm kick-off)
  • Manager Martí Cifuentes shared news on several of the squad following injuries
  • A decision will be made on James Justin’s fitness after limping off against Preston
  • Captain Ricardo Pereira has not yet made a competitive appearance this season
  • Victor Kristiansen and Bobby De Cordova-Reid have been longer term absentees
The Foxes head south to The Valley for a 12:30pm kick-off on Saturday, aiming to return to winning ways in the Sky Bet Championship following defeat at Preston North End last time out.
And speaking in his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon, Cifuentes shared the latest on several of the squad, with James Justin having limped off 77 minutes into our previous clash at Deepdale.
Ricardo Pereira, meanwhile, has not played since pre-season, but the Foxes skipper has now integrated back with the squad in Seagrave.
City’s Manager told the media at LCFC Training Ground: “He (Ricardo) is doing very well actually because he’s a very important player for us and Club captain. He was very eager to come with the team, so he travelled with us to Preston to support the guys.

“I took the decision to not risk more than we need at this stage of the season with him, but he has been training all week with the group, feeling good, looking good and it is very good news for us.
“It was just a dead leg kick on his (Justin’s) quad and he was in a lot of pain so his mobility was a bit reduced over the first days of the week. He is progressing and we are going to take a decision tomorrow.”
Victor Kristiansen and Bobby De Cordova-Reid, meanwhile, are yet to feature under the Spaniard due to injuries picked up over the summer, and continue to progress away from the group as they build towards being ready for competitive action.
The 43-year-old told us: “The medical [team] are working with him (Kristiansen), so we are talking about several more weeks actually. The good thing is that he is already training individually but, on the pitch, and at a good level. Then we just need to follow up on his progress during the next few weeks.
“It’s a muscular injury (for De Cordova-Reid) that we need to take step-by-step, but he is progressing very well. Today he was working outside together with Victor, running at a good pace, and we just need to follow the plan and hopefully in a few weeks, he will be part of the squad again.”
