The Foxes then host Peterborough United at King Power Stadium on Saturday (3pm kick-off)
Still in the midst of the international window, the Foxes travel to Hertfordshire for a Jersey Mike’s Trophy encounter with Stevenage on Tuesday evening (7pm kick-off), before Sky Bet League One action resumes at home to Peterborough United on Saturday (3pm kick-off), with tickets available for the King Power Stadium clash. Having played once in the last two weeks, the forward believes City have benefitted from additional time to fine tune certain aspects of our game, proving useful from a tactical point of view, despite a host of players currently being away with their nations.
“Sometimes when you have a lot of games, you don’t have time to train,” the Danish striker explained. “We had a good week last week and it has been good to get some time on the training pitch, even with a lot of the boys away.
“For us boys who have been there, it has been really insightful. It has been a long break now so getting into the games is going to be really nice.”
Following a frustrating 1-1 draw with Barnsley last time out, it’s been a long wait for our next league fixture to come around against the Posh, although there’s another cup tie to come before then, aiming to build on the victory over Fulham Under-21s on matchday one.
“We wanted to go into the break with a win,” the 28-year-old expressed. “After the Barnsley game, we were hoping for a game really quickly and it has been frustrating not to come back and show a response rather than having to wait three weeks.
“Obviously, it has been nice to have some time back home as well but after that frustrating game you just really want another game to come soon after.”
