Jake Evans played 74 minutes as Cheltenham Town drew 1-1 with Colchester United, making his seventh League Two appearance of the season. Fellow Foxes forward Kirsten Otchere came on as a late substitute in the stalemate at JobServe Community Stadium.

The Robins currently sit fifth and host Chesterfield at EV Charger Points Stadium on Saturday (3pm kick-off). Before then, it’s EFL Trophy action on Tuesday night, facing Exeter City at home in a 7pm kick-off.

Also in League Two, Michael Golding got 20 minutes under his belt for Shrewsbury Town, featuring in a 1-1 draw away to Crewe Alexandra at Mornflake Stadium.

Now 18th in the table, Colchester United are next up at Croud Meadow, hosting the U’s at 3pm on Saturday.

Staying in the fourth tier, Logan Briggs was on the bench for Northampton Town’s 1-0 defeat to Rotherham United, coming on for the final nine minutes at Sixfields Stadium.

Port Vale are the Cobblers’ next opposition, on Saturday at 3pm. Vale Park is the venue for that clash, as the visitors look to improve on their current placing of 22nd.

Moving into the Sky Bet Championship, Oliver Skipp played throughout Charlton Athletic’s 3-1 defeat to Cardiff City at Cardiff City Stadium. The Addicks, ninth in the table heading into the international break, take on Bristol City at The Valley on Saturday 10 October (12:30pm kick-off).

Stephy Mavididi, meanwhile, was introduced off the bench in Watford’s 1-0 defeat to Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Friday night. The winger could be in action again on 10 October, entertaining Burnley at Vicarage Road (3pm kick-off).
