Leicester City in the Community to host two Walkers RePlay World Cup Leagues in New Parks
Teams meet on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings
The first games are set to kick-off at the end of this month
Individuals from teams who display positive community presence will be selected as RePlay Champions and will represent Leicester at the World Cup in New York

As part of the Walkers RePlay global campaign, from February to May, Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings will be given over to a mix of friendly competition and community spirit, in search for community champions that will be travelling to represent their communities at the FIFA World Cup in 2026.

In the lead-up to the World Cup, Walkers, together with Common Goal, are launching a massive global effort to champion the love of the beautiful game for communities around the world: The RePlay World Cup League.

Leicester City in the Community will facilitate a girls only league and a mixed 30+ league, which will take place in New Parks, making Leicester one of only nine cities across the world taking part in the competition, and the only in the UK.

The idea is simple: football should be for everyone, and it should bring people together. Matches are played in a World Cup style format, but the real magic happens beyond the scoreline. Instead of rewarding only the quickest strikers or the sharpest defenders, the programme highlights individuals who genuinely embody the spirit of the game.

Leadership, kindness, teamwork, reliability, and a positive presence in the community are the qualities that make someone a RePlay Champion. Those selected will go on an unforgettable trip to the World Cup this summer, representing Leicester City and the wider UK in New York as RePlay Ambassadors.

Leicester is lucky enough to have one of the only RePlay pitches in the UK, built from upcycled crisp packets. Designed to give the community a sustainable, vibrant place to play, it will now host some of its biggest games to date, and bear witness to the journeys of some local community heroes from New Parks to the World Cup.
