The Club’s Charitable arm have nominated Cory Holas as Community Captain
Cory’s years of work have been recognised as part of the Premier League More Than A Game Campaign
Cory first joined the team as a Premier League Kicks Coach, before progressing into an Inspires Mentor role
Premier League Inspires and Premier League Kicks are funded by the Premier League through the Premier League Foundation
The award, which is a part of the Premier League More Than a Game campaign, is a credit to Cory’s impactful work with Leicester City in the Community (LCitC) and this year looks back on 20 years of the Premier League Kicks project.
Premier League Kicks, funded by the Premier League through the Premier League Foundation, uses the power of football and sport to inspire young people to reach their potential, in some of the most high-need areas in England and Wales.
Premier League Kicks is exactly where Cory’s journey with the charity first begun. Since then, he has helped hundreds of young people reach their potential, and has since progressed to the Premier League Inspires project as a mentor for young people.
The Premier League More Than A Game campaign unites clubs to celebrate the positive impact of Premier League investment into communities, and celebrates how this work benefits the lives of countless people across the country.
As part of this celebration, Cory was nominated as Community Captain and presented with his recognition at a girls football after school club at Martin High, in Anstey, with the help of the school’s staff team.
Cory was presented with his award by Martin High’s Associate Principal, Nina Smith, who said: “Cory is an integral part of our school, so we want to say a massive thank you. This award is really well deserved.”
Students, school staff, LCitC staff and Filbert Fox all lined up to watch his award presentation in recognition of his lengthy commitment and contribution to Leicester City in the Community.
A Community Captain is someone at the heart of a Premier League-funded programme, and is nominated in recognition of their commitment and contribution to the game and society.
Premier League Inspires uses the appeal of football to help children and young people aged 11-18 to develop the personal skills and positive attitudes to succeed in life.
Congratulations to Cory!
