It has been an opportunity to build confidence, develop leadership skills and represent her school on a national stage.

Forest Lodge Academy serves a community with significant levels of need, with around 45 per cent of pupils eligible for free school meals, considerably above the national average. The school is also located in an area of high deprivation, in New Parks, Leicester making access to positive sporting opportunities and enrichment programmes especially important.

Through Leicester City in the Community's delivery of Premier League Primary Stars, pupils like Keyli have benefitted from high-quality PE lessons, increased opportunities to take part in extra-curricular sport, and experiences that help them develop the skills needed both on and off the pitch.

Throughout the programme, Keyli has grown into a confident leader among her peers. She has developed strong communication and teamwork skills, learning how to encourage and support others while working towards shared goals.

She has also demonstrated resilience during challenging moments, showing determination and a positive attitude when faced with setbacks qualities that have been recognised by both her teachers and Leicester City in the Community coaches.

One of the standout moments of Keyli's journey came when she and her team-mates won their Regional Premier League Primary Stars tournament, earning the opportunity to represent Leicester City in the Community at the Premier League Primary Stars National Finals.

Competing against schools from across the country was an unforgettable experience and a reward for the team's commitment, hard work and dedication throughout the programme.

Keyli shared her experience of representing Leicester City in the Community at the Premier League Primary Stars National Tournament as a 'proud moment'.

The team's remarkable achievement was celebrated back at Forest Lodge Academy, where pupils and staff recognised their success. As part of the celebrations, Keyli received a Leicester City in the Community Values Award in recognition of the leadership, resilience, teamwork and respect she consistently demonstrated throughout her Premier League Primary Stars journey.

Keyli's story also highlights the impact of creating more opportunities for girls to participate in sport. Through regular PE delivery and dedicated girls' extra-curricular sessions, she has grown in confidence while inspiring other girls at Forest Lodge Academy to get involved, challenge themselves and enjoy being active.

Leicester City in the Community's Premier League Primary Stars programme continues to make a lasting difference by delivering high-quality PE, increasing participation in girls' sport and helping young people develop essential life skills such as leadership, communication, teamwork and resilience.

For Keyli, the journey from regional champions to representing Leicester City in the Community at the Premier League Primary Stars National Finals is one she will never forget and one that demonstrates the life-changing impact of sport when young people are given the opportunity to thrive.
