  • Leicester City in the Community have this week marked Mental Health Awareness Week
  • Staff and participants have come together to build a giant puzzle on the King Power Stadium turf
  • There are several free sessions with Leicester City in the Community to help with your mental health
On Wednesday afternoon, staff came together to create a giant puzzle on the pitch at King Power Stadium, where participants’ self-portraits came together to form a piece of artwork that represents Leicester City in the Community’s motto; that there’s a place for everyone.
Leicester City in the Community run several programmes that support people with their mental health, and many of these participants were involved in creating this final piece.
If you, or anyone you know, is struggling with their mental health, there are several free sessions you can access with Leicester City in the Community to get supported:
Goal Difference is a 10-week football-themed mental health and wellbeing support service for adults that runs every Tuesday at King Power Stadium. To register your interest and access support, please click HERE.
Mind, meanwhile, run a Mental Health Coffee Morning in conjunction with Leicester City in the Community at King Power Stadium every Thursday morning in the 1884 Sports Bar. This is a free-to attend drop-in session that runs from 10.30am-12.30pm. For more information, please email dawn.tobin@lcfc.co.uk.
The charity also runs a one-to-one mentoring programme called Play On in partnership with local Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services and the NHS that aims to support young people with mild to moderate mental health and wellbeing concerns, providing early intervention to reduce the likelihood of CAMHS involvement. Referrals onto this programme can be made HERE.
And finally, Premier League Inspires is a personal development programme that creates life-changing opportunities and empowers participants to develop personal, social, employability and life-skills. They do this through a series of regular face-to-face, one-to-one and group sessions, workshops and social-action projects, providing pupils with the help they need now and supporting them to plan for their future. Find out more HERE.
Participants and staff from each of these programmes have taken part in the puzzle activity, which represents one of Leicester City in the Community’s core values of togetherness.
