The City midfielder was replaced 76 minutes into the clash at Cardiff City Stadium, which saw Wes Burns introduced from the bench at the same interval, just after a Rasmus Højlund penalty had seen the visitors go in front.
The Danes saw out that scoreline to claim all three points and remain second in League A Group 4, while Craig Bellamy’s men are in third place ahead of November fixtures against Norway and Portugal. Goalkeeper Dai Cornell, meanwhile, was an unused substitute in the defeat.
Elsewhere, Christian McFarlane came on as a second-half substitute during England Under-20s’ 2-1 success over Germany in Spain, replacing Jesse Derry in the 56th minute of the contest.
Saturday’s fixture included strikes from Shim Mheuka and Kian Noble, which put Darren Moore’s side in a commanding position and although Germany did pull one back in the second half, England secured a third win from three.
Staying with the youth internationals, Louis Page started England Under-19s’ 2-1 friendly victory over the United States on Friday afternoon. The young Foxes midfielder played 73 minutes in Spain before being replaced by Arsenal youngster Ifeoluwa Ibrahim.
Reigan Heskey broke the deadlock inside the opening minute, prior to the USA equalising from the penalty spot. Luca Williams-Barnett’s goal on the hour-mark ensured the young Lions maintained their 100 per cent record across this international window, despite Max Dowman’s sending off.
Back in action later today, Ben Futcher’s side are taking on Belgium at Marbella Football Center (12pm kick-off).
