The Foxes loanees were paired together in attack at the County Ground, with Evans playing throughout the contest and Otchere getting just over an hour under his belt, but they could not prevent a first league defeat of the season for Steve Cotterill’s Robins, with Ryan Broom’s late goal only a consolation.

Sitting 14th in the early Sky Bet League Two standings, it’s Oldham Athletic up next on Saturday – a 3pm kick-off at Boundary Park.

Elsewhere in League Two, Logan Briggs was in the Northampton Town XI which lost 1-0 to Crewe Alexandra courtesy of Josh March’s goal for the home side at Mornflake Stadium.

Playing 65 minutes, the young midfielder could be in action again this weekend as the Cobblers, currently in 18th, travel to MEMS Priestfield Stadium to face Gillingham (3pm kick-off).
