From pizza parties to late winners, the 15/16 title-winning season was littered with iconic moments. Below, chronologically, are some of the most influential.
13 July, 2015 - Ranieri Joins The Foxes
Claudio Ranieri
July 2015 marked the first wheels in motion on our route to becoming champions of England. Claudio Ranieri was appointed First Team Manager after an 11-year hiatus from the English top flight.
The Italian transformed the Foxes into a highly disciplined outfit. His rigid 4-4-2 formation made the side tough to break down but devastating on the counter-attack, thanks to the attacking talent of Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy and Co.
Ranieri built on the foundations laid before him during the Great Escape and exceeded all expectations from his first step into King Power Stadium. He brought calmness, belief and determination to a side that would go on to defy 5000/1 odds and etch us into the history books.
28 November, 2015 – “It’s Eleven, It’s Heaven For Jamie Vardy”

Jamie Vardy was inevitable for the Foxes from August to November, with the Englishman on the scoresheet for 11 consecutive games, breaking Ruud van Nistelrooy’s long-standing record from 2003 with Manchester United.
Vardy’s record-breaker came against the Red Devils. In the 24th minute, Christian Fuchs slipped the forward in behind their defence, tight to the right edge of the box, and without a team-mate in sight, Vardy had no option but to shoot. With his confidence through the roof, he guided the ball past David de Gea into the bottom left corner.
King Power Stadium went into ecstasy, celebrating one of the Club’s greats defying the odds once more.
Bournemouth, Aston Villa, Stoke, Arsenal, Norwich, Southampton, Crystal Palace, West Brom, Watford, Newcastle and Manchester United were all hit with the same devastating goalscoring ability on his way to the milestone.
Building on that record-breaking scoring streak, Vardy went on to net 24 goals across the 15/16 season, helping play a pivotal role in delivering the Premier League title.
13 January, 2016 – Huth’s Header Sinks Spurs

With the busy Christmas period in the rear-view mirror and the Premier League run-in firmly underway, the Foxes hit the road to White Hart Lane for a fierce battle against title rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Ranieri’s men were in the driver’s seat coming into the fixture, with Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester City all keen to pounce on anything less than the three points.
Every player and fan knew the weight of the clash, and with just seven minutes left of regular time, the Foxes worked their way up the pitch for a corner. Fuchs’ floated delivery to the back post found the German giant, Huth, unmarked. His header was directed expertly back across the goal to the top left-hand corner.
3,000 Leicester fans celebrated wildly, with the Foxes holding out for a monumental win. Huth’s header will always be remembered as one of the very best moments of that unforgettable campaign.
27 February, 2016 – Ulloa’s Late Winner Versus Norwich

With March around the corner and a dozen games left to play, the Foxes, coming off a narrow 2-1 defeat to the Gunners, which had followed a sensational 3-1 win away at Manchester City, needed to restore confidence quickly.
Norwich was up next, and the Canaries displayed a spirited performance, with chances from Cameron Jerome and Nathan Redmond giving the Foxes a real scare.
Time was running out, and with just a little over 10 minutes left to play, Ranieri turned to Argentine Leonardo Ulloa.
Fast forward to the 89th minute, and the Foxes were moving forward with real desire. Mahrez, with time and space on the edge of the box, slipped through the overlapping Marc Albrighton, who had no choice but to cross the ball.
The ball, fired across the six-yard box and past the outstretched boot of Vardy, was met by the stride of Ulloa at the back post. His left boot redirected it into the net, sealing a vital three points right at the death.
But it’s what happened after the win that makes Ulloa’s moment so crucial, as we went on a 12-game unbeaten run to end the season and claim the ultimate prize.
1 May, 2016 – Wes Morgan’s Leveller All-But Completes Title Charge
Wes Morgan
We entered Old Trafford knowing a win would see us crowned Premier League champions. Manchester United made the Foxes earn everything on the day and raced into a 1-0 lead through Antony Martial just seven minutes after kick-off.
But as City had done all season, they picked themselves back up and went right on the front foot. In the 14th minute, United’s Michael Carrick brought down Jeffrey Schlupp and gave Ranieri’s men a golden opportunity to level the match.
Danny Drinkwater stepped over the ball and delivered a perfect cross for captain Wes Morgan to nod home. As Martin Tyler famously said on commentary, “Leicester hit back…like champions!” The game would go on to finish 1-1, leaving us waiting on a result elsewhere to seal the crown.
Though it felt like a lifetime, we’d only have to wait a day for the dream to become a reality as Tottenham, who needed nothing less than a win versus Chelsea, were held to a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.
A moment that will live forever in our history, and one of many that steered us towards Premier League immortality.
