Andri Guðjohnsen struck in both halves to settle it on Filbert Way, leaving City 11th in the Sky Bet Championship ahead of the day’s later kick-offs.
It marks a third straight defeat following away reverses at Hull City and Millwall, with Middlesbrough next to arrive in the East Midlands on Tuesday evening (7:45pm GMT kick-off).
Rovers go in front
Leicester City
A day to forget started brightly enough. Abdul Fatawu drove past Scott Wharton on the right, slipped in Ricardo Pereira on the overlap, and the captain’s cut-back made its way to Stephy Mavididi - whose effort was blocked by Ryan Alebiosu.
Moments later, Jannik Vestergaard’s header was diverted in by Mavididi beyond Balázs Tóth, but the offside flag halted the celebrations. Not taking an early lead would prove costly, as Valérien Ismaël’s side punished Leicester in the 19th minute.
Dion De Neve’s low delivery from the left channel deflected off Boubakary Soumaré and rolled kindly into Guðjohnsen’s path to finish from close range.
No way through

City pushed for a response, but we couldn't get through the Blackburn rearguard. Jordan James was convinced Leicester should have had a penalty when Taylor Gardner-Hickman appeared to handle his cross inside the box.
Caleb Okoli bravely blocked Yuki Ohashi’s fierce strike soon after, with Jakub Stolarczyk still forced into a solid stop to prevent a second goal. The Fatawu-Ricardo combination sparked a chance late in the half, presenting Mavididi another opening, but his effort rose over the bar. James also curled off target from distance.
After the interval, Blackburn almost doubled their lead immediately, Gardner-Hickman blazing over in space inside the area. Although Leicester also had openings, it was a sign of things to come before the final whistle.
The visitors seal the points

Blackburn continued to threaten. Guðjohnsen broke down the left and picked out the lively Ohashi at the back post - his sweet volley was gathered by Stolarczyk, wearing a cap in the low-hanging autumn sun.
Then came a huge Leicester chance. James flashed a low delivery across goal from the right, Julián Carranza cleverly shielding Wharton to allow it to trickle through to Mavididi, unmarked, five yards out. Tóth, though, raced from his line brilliantly to block at point-blank range. Guðjohnsen’s second followed - a ruthless rising finish inside the box - and it proved decisive on a day when City couldn’t find the rhythm or accuracy to unlock Rovers late on.
Substitute Makhtar Gueye almost added a third for the away side, squirming an effort narrowly wide, while Patson Daka was denied by Tóth deep in added time as well. The damage was done, though, and the whistle blew seconds later. These are challenging times for Leicester, but Tuesday night’s visit of Middlesbrough now provides an immediate chance to reset momentum and get points on the board.
