Hamza Choudhury scored in Bangladesh's 4-3 defeat by Hong Kong on Thursday
Jannik Vestergaard helped Denmark to a 6-0 victory over Belarus
Jordan James came off the bench in Wales' 3-0 reverse to England
Ryan Donnelly was also a substitute in a win over Malta for Northern Ireland U21s
The Foxes midfielder opened the scoring for the Bengal Tigers against Hong Kong in Dhaka, curling a brilliant direct free-kick into the net from the left edge of the penalty area in just the 13th minute. Despite Hamza’s early strike, the hosts were ultimately beaten 4-3 in a thrilling contest.
Everton Camargo equalised before the break, and Raphael Merkies fired Hong Kong ahead after the interval before adding his side's third to make it 3-1.
With City’s No.17 completing the full 90 minutes, Shekh Morsalin reduced the deficit before Shamit Shome struck deep into added time to seemingly salvage a point for Bangladesh. There was heartbreak, however, as Merkies completed his hat-trick in the 101st minute to seal victory for the visitors.
The result leaves Bangladesh fourth in AFC Asian Cup qualifying Group C, with one point from three games, ahead of Tuesday’s reverse fixture away to Hong Kong (1pm kick-off).
Jannik Vestergaard in action for Denmark.
Elsewhere, Jannik Vestergaard played the full match for Denmark in a commanding 6-0 win over Belarus, a result which sent the Danes to the top of their FIFA World Cup qualifying group on seven points from three matches.
At ZTE Arena, where City visited during pre-season, Victor Froholdt opened the scoring, before Rasmus Højlund and Anders Dreyer each netted twice, and Patrick Dorgu added another to round off a dominant performance. The Danes now sit level with Scotland at the summit, ahead of hosting Greece on Sunday (7:45pm kick-off).
Back on British soil, Jordan James - who found the net for the Foxes at Swansea last weekend - featured for Wales in their 3-0 defeat by England at Wembley.
Jordan James was a second-half substitute for Wales.
All three goals came inside the opening 20 minutes through Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins and Bukayo Saka, with James, on loan from Rennes, introduced in the 64th minute. The midfielder will hope for more minutes when Wales meet Belgium in Cardiff on Monday (7:45pm kick-off).
Meanwhile, Academy prospect Ryan Donnelly made a second-half appearance for Northern Ireland Under-21s in their 2-0 victory over Malta in Belfast. Makenzie Kirk and Michael Forbes were on target for the hosts, who now top UEFA EURO U21 qualifying Group F with four points from two fixtures.

The international action continues on Friday, with Olabade Aluko and Michael Golding in line to feature for England’s Under-20s against Switzerland (1pm kick-off), while Chris Popov’s Wales Under-21s face Belgium (6pm kick-off).
