Wales were beaten 4-2 by Belgium on Monday evening
Jordan James played 86 minutes in the FIFA World Cup Qualification fixture
Kevin De Bruyne scored twice at Cardiff City Stadium
World Cup qualification was on the cards as our midfield loanee, James, was named in the starting line-up for Craig Bellamy's side, who took on group leaders Belgium at Cardiff City Stadium.
It was a bright start for the hosts who took the lead eight minutes in through Joe Rodon, before Kevin De Bruyne scored his first from twelve yards 10 minutes later.
The midfielder also played against England in a friendly last week.
Belgium had the lead at the break after Thomas Meunier's strike, and increased that advantage with a second penalty, successful converted by Napoli midfielder De Bruyne, for his second of the night.
Nathan Broadhead, who plays his football at Wrexham AFC, scored late on to make it an interesting finish, but the Red Devils saw out the win with a late goal from Leandro Trossard.
Playing the majority of the game, James and Wales' chance of progression to next year's tournament rests on the last two games of Group J, as they currently sit third with 10 points, four behind Belgium.
There's further international action to come this week, with Hamza Choudhury potentially in action for Bangladesh on Tuesday, ahead of Bobby De Cordova-Reid's Jamaica playing in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
