The result at Meadow Lane saw the Spireites lose out 1-0 on aggregate in the semi-final, following a narrow defeat in the first leg at SMH Group Stadium. Notts County will now play in the Wembley final for a place in the third tier.

The 22-year-old midfielder finished the season with 40 League Two appearances under his belt, adding two goals and four assists, including 23 games for the Derbyshire-based club since his loan move in January.

Up in Scotland, Henry Cartwright featured in back-to-back Scottish Premiership defeats for Falkirk, coming on 74 minutes into the 3-0 reverse at Hearts last Wednesday, before starting a 5-2 loss at home to Rangers three days later in their season finale.

Finishing the campaign sixth in the Championship Group, Cartwright played 42 times for the club across all competitions in 25/26.

Up against Lassana Coulibaly of US Lecce in Serie A.

Across to Italy, full-back Woyo Coulibaly played the full game for Sassuolo, who were beaten 3-2 by Leece – the away side scoring an injury-time winner. Remaining 11th in Serie A, I Neroverdi head to Parma for the last game of the season on Sunday (2pm kick-off).

In France, AS Monaco concluded the Ligue 1 campaign by losing 5-4 to Strasbourg, with Wout Faes playing throughout. Just missing out on European football by finishing seventh, the Belgian centre-back made 16 appearances for the French outfit during the second half of the season.

Finally, Bilal El Khannouss was an unused substitute as VfB Stuttgart drew 2-2 with Eintracht Frankfurt to finish fourth in the Bundesliga and qualify for the UEFA Champions League football next season. Die Roten now face champions Bayern Munich in the DFB-Pokal Cup Final on Saturday 23 May (7pm kick-off).
