The Foxes returned to LCFC Training Ground last Monday following the summer break, beginning the work of laying the fitness foundations and developing the tactical understanding required under Martin, who was appointed Manager in June.
After completing initial testing and assessments, it wasn't long before the players were back out on the grass, with the intensity quickly ramping up.
There's already been a competitive edge to sessions, too, as Martin and his coaching staff - including new Assistant Manager Conor Hourihane and Fitness Coach Rhys Owen - keep a close eye on every detail.
Fitness remains a major focus, with plenty of hard running already in the legs, but the attention now begins to shift towards match action. This week concludes with the first of six pre-season friendlies as City's preparations step up another level.
Sky Bet League Two side Northampton Town are the visitors to LCFC Training Ground on Saturday (12pm BST), before another fourth-tier opponent, Bristol Rovers, host the Foxes next Tuesday evening. Martin's men then travel to Burton Albion on Saturday 18 July before heading to Spain for a pre-season training camp.
While in Spain, City will face Cádiz on Wednesday 22 July and Málaga on Saturday 25 July at Estadio Nuevo Mirador in Algeciras, before returning to north Leicestershire to complete preparations. Pre-season concludes with a King Power Stadium meeting against Serie A outfit Genoa on Saturday 1 August.
But before thoughts turn to Spain or the final friendly, there's another demanding week of work to come at Seagrave, with every session geared towards ensuring the Foxes are ready when the competitive action begins.
City's 26/27 campaign gets under way with a Carabao Cup First Round tie against Northampton Town at King Power Stadium on Saturday 8 August, before attention switches to the League One opener away at Notts County on Saturday 15 August.
