LGBTQ+ inclusion round table held on Filbert Way
Event brought together voices from the football industry and wider society
Discussion focused on four key themes designed to help shape future support and strengthen our approach to inclusion
Bringing together voices from across football, public services, higher education and the local community, the event provided an opportunity to celebrate the progress being made to support LGBTQ+ people, while also recognising the importance of continuing to listen, learn and take meaningful action to drive further change.
Representatives from across the football industry and wider society came together to discuss the current landscape for LGBTQ+ inclusion, exploring both the positive steps that have been taken and the challenges that remain.
The discussion focused on four key themes designed to help shape future support and strengthen our approach to inclusion.
A central part of the conversation was understanding the barriers preventing LGBTQ+ people from feeling fully represented and included within football, including the reasons discrimination and exclusion still exists within the game and wider communities.
The round table aimed to create tangible recommendations for us to take forward, ensuring we continue to provide a safe and supportive environment for everyone - whether attending matches, engaging with our activities or accessing community programmes.
We will continue to work with partners and communities, with an update on progress and future actions to be shared during the coming season.
