We were beaten 3-1 by Queens Park Rangers at King Power Stadium on Saturday
The defeat leaves us 23rd in the Sky Bet Championship with eight games still to play
Goalscorer Jordan James says showing 'fight' is the minimum requirement during this run-in
We have to 'reset' ahead of this weekend's trip to Vicarage Road to face Watford
Despite James’ opener at King Power Stadium, goals from Harvey Vale and Ronnie Edwards – either side of Ben Nelson’s own goal – saw the Hoops seal the points.
It was a bitterly disappointing afternoon for Gary Rowett’s Foxes, who had hoped to build on last Tuesday’s 2-0 victory over Bristol City on home soil.
Following this reverse, though, we are now 23rd in the Sky Bet Championship with eight games to play, next heading to Vicarage Road to tackle Watford on Saturday.
Asked about the fight which will be required from the squad, James said: “That should be the minimum. With where are in the league and what we’re trying to achieve, that has to be the minimum.
“For me, whenever I step foot on the pitch, it’s 100 per cent. It wasn’t good enough today. From 30 minutes onwards, we weren’t good enough.
“We conceded that goal and our heads went down. It’s happened a few times this season. It just seems like we’re waiting for the game to happen instead of grabbing it by the scruff of the neck and getting that second goal. It’s not good enough.”
James knows the Blue Army will have a vital role to play over the coming weeks, while also emphasising the need to put on performances worthy of points before the end of the season.
“It’s massive for us, the fans,” he added. “It’s a tough time, both in the dressing room and with the stuff around us. But they’re massive for us. When they’re on our side, they give us a massive boost, and I think you saw that in the first 30 minutes today.
“We have no choice [but to go again]. Time’s ticking. We’re running out of games. We need points desperately. We have to reset as a group and look towards the next game.”
