The start to the 2026 didn’t go as planned for Leicester, as we were beaten by Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, only days after a much-improved win over Derby County on home soil.
Goals 10 minutes either side of the break made it a tough ask for the Foxes to get back into the game, despite Jordan James scoring a late consolation goal in Sheffield.
Coming out to speak to the media after the game, Skipp admitted that the levels need to be raised.

“We’re feeling disappointment," he told us. "We weren’t at the levels we need to be, and we’re disappointed with the performance.
“It’s not a happy dressing room and there’s not much to say after a performance like that, but it wasn’t good enough.
“We conceded sloppy goals, and we couldn’t get a foothold in the game. We didn’t get enough chances but the whole performance wasn’t acceptable.
“We’ve got to look at ourselves and reflect on it so we can fight back to put things right.”
The former Tottenham Hotspur man believes that the Foxes haven’t been able to find the right groove in order to string together a consecutive run of wins, but went on to say how that must change, and that it starts with the players in the dressing room.

He also discussed the need to turn things around on Monday evening, when West Bromwich Albion make the short trip to King Power Stadium for a 8pm GMT kick-off.
“We haven’t had consistency all season,” Skipp continued. “A few good games here and there but not enough to put a run together. We need to do something about it because it can’t keep happening.
“There’s lots of time left in the season but we can’t keep saying that because the weeks keep moving forward, and it’s up to us in the dressing room to sort it out.
“We’ve got a game in four days, and I think that is the only positive you can say.”
