In an App exclusive, we spoke with Sinclair, who over the time from 1998-2004, made over 190 appearances and earned a spot in the hearts of many of the Leicester faithful.
But before all that, he rose through the ranks at Chelsea, hailing from London, and made the move to the East Midlands following a successful season for the Blues.
“I came back from the World Cup starting pre-season as usual and looking forward to the new season starting,” he explained.
“I’d played lots of games in pre-season and then at the back end of it I got a call from my agent saying that Chelsea had accepted a bid from Leicester.

“When I went to meet Martin O’Neill, I saw his vision for what he wanted to do with the Club and I got what the Club was about very quickly from him.
“Obviously, it wasn’t as big a club as Chelsea in stature, but definitely one with ambition, going through plans for a new stadium.”
Knowing his career demanded regular playing time, his move to City made sense, and the project made it a desirable one too, but he never expected to have such a successful time on Filbert Way.
“To get to two cup finals in two season at Leicester and actually win one was brilliant for me,” he continued.
“Once I knew those chances would be few and far between (at Chelsea), I decided to move for myself and the opportunity to continue to be successful and that’s what we were able to do in 2000.
“It was a big decision and I’m really proud of what I did in my time at Leicester – I thoroughly enjoyed it. I don’t regret any of it, I had six great years at Leicester.”

On the international stage, Sinclair represented Jamaica 28 times throughout his playing days, and reminisced about a first time at a World Cup for the nation when they competed in France in 1998, and the feeling behind a group stage win over Japan.
He added: “We wanted to go there and try and be respected as a football nation because the Caribbean teams weren’t strong at the time. We wanted to at least win a game and represent ourselves in the best possible way.
“We lost narrowly to Croatia in a tight game that was 1-1 at half-time and they went on to get to the semi-finals. We got battered by Argentina when [Gabriel] Batistuta scored a hat-trick; he was one of the top strikers in the world at that time.
“We then went on to beat Japan and win a game in our first appearance at a World Cup, which is quite an achievement within itself. I loved my time playing for Jamaica.”
