Coming into the game off the back of a penalty shootout success at Forest Green Rovers in the National League Cup in midweek, the young Foxes claimed all three points at LCFC Training Ground to lift us up to 11th in the 29-team PL2 table, now on 11 points from seven games.

Mirsad Ali set up Logan Briggs to get the scoring started 18 minutes in, followed up by captain Olabade Aluko's goal just four minutes later.

The skipper among the goals again.

Into the second half, Briggs then turned provider for Wales Under-21 international Chris Popov to strike a Foxes third, his last action before being substituted.

The side coached by Leon McSweeney looked to be heading for a first clean sheet since the end of August until Moses Sesay netted a Saints consolation six minutes into injury time, though it didn't prevent victory in Seagrave.

Popov put the game beyond doubt.

There's more league action to come next Friday, when we face Manchester City at City Football Academy (7pm GMT kick-off).
