  • We face Aston Villa Women at Villa Park on Sunday (12pm kick-off)
  • Rick Passmoor says Missy Goodwin is working towards match fitness
  • It remains to be seen whether it’ll be ‘days or weeks’ for her return to action
  • Celese Boureille’s return looks likely to be around November, Passmoor adds
The Foxes are due at Villa Park for a 12pm kick-off on Sunday in our sixth outing of this Barclays Women’s Super League campaign, having collected four points so far.
Goodwin and Boureille have been absent for City over recent weeks and Passmoor has provided an update ahead of the weekend as each continues their recovery.
Speaking on the squad as a whole, he said: “They’ve been really competitive this week. There’s been a bit of spice within training.
“Therefore, the levels have been up there in terms of effort. They’ve been very competitive.”
On Missy’s condition, Passmoor added: “Missy is back on the [training] pitch. There’s no defined deadline date for her. She’s improving [with] the medical department so there’s no pressure on her. It’s just a matter of time for her, whether it’s days or weeks.”

Boureille, meanwhile, has a hamstring complaint which she suffered in the narrow defeat at WSL champions Chelsea in September and is expected back next month.
“Celeste is still coming back,” Passmoor explained. “It was potentially up to seven weeks that she’d be sidelined, so we’re looking at potentially November time for her to return.
“Obviously, we’ve got the international break, [where] we can work with her in the medical department. There’s no immediate return for Celeste.
“When everyone’s together and working hard for each other, they put others before themselves, side before self. At the Chelsea game, she felt a little bit of a hamstring [issue] after about 70 minutes, continued to play on, and then [it was] quite a tear in the hamstring.
“I think it was the last action of the game actually and then, obviously, we got the news that there’d be a time out, a period of recuperation and rehab with the medical team.”
