The Robins won 2-1 to move second in Sky Bet League Two

Stevie Bausor and Slough Town were beaten 2-0 at home by Hemel Hempstead

Evans started for the Robins at EV Charger Points Stadium, playing 59 minutes of Saturday’s contest before being replaced by James Wilson, while fellow Foxes forward Otchere was introduced from the bench in the closing stages.

First-half goals from Charlie McCann and Andreas Weimann put Cheltenham in control, before Louie Marsh reduced the deficit shortly after the interval for Chesterfield. The hosts held firm, however, to secure all three points.

The result continued an impressive opening to the campaign for Cheltenham, with both Evans and Otchere earning further minutes during their season-long loan spells.

Now second in the fourth-tier table, behind leaders Barnet on goal difference, X’s side face Accrington Stanley at Wham Stadium on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

Elsewhere, Academy goalkeeper Stevie Bausor played the full 90 minutes for Slough Town in their 2-0 defeat to Hemel Hempstead Town in Enterprise National League South.

Goals from Lee Angol and Christian Chigozie either side of the interval ultimately secured victory for the visitors at Arbour Park. Sitting 23rd in the current standings, Town are at home again tomorrow night, hosting Ebbsfleet United (7:45pm kick-off).
