We’ll once again be joining clubs across the country in honouring the Armed Forces community, remembering those who have lost their lives in service and recognising the sacrifices made by serving personnel, veterans and their families.
The EFL Remembrance campaign runs from Friday 30 October to Sunday 8 November, with activities at King Power Stadium and LCFC Women’s fixture against Watford helping to mark the occasion.
REMEMBRANCE AT KING POWER STADIUM
Ahead of our clash with Stevenage on Filbert Way, supporters will be invited to take part in a series of matchday tributes, including a full-stadium Remembrance poppy mosaic.
The pre-match programme will feature a wreath-laying ceremony, the Last Post and a period of silence. Royal British Legion Standard Bearers will also be in attendance, alongside a Remembrance banner displayed in the centre circle.
From 12pm, the brickweave outside the stadium will host a range of military vehicles, equipment displays and engagement stands representing several Armed Forces units. Royal British Legion fundraising and awareness activities will also take place.
During half-time, there will be an Armed Forces and Veterans' Lap of Appreciation, accompanied by the Coldstream Guards Corps of Drums.
Remembrance poppy decorations, commemorative stadium visuals and architectural lighting will feature throughout the campaign, while fans will have opportunities to contribute through Royal British Legion collections and poppy merchandise.
VETERANS’ COFFEE MORNING
A free Veterans' Coffee Morning will be held in The Gallery at King Power Stadium from 10am to 12pm on Saturday 31 October, ahead of the Stevenage fixture.
Open to veterans, serving Armed Forces personnel and their families, the event will include a presentation from the Royal British Legion and a special guest Q&A with Ian Dilkes, discussing his military career and experiences in television. Complimentary refreshments will be provided.
Advance registration is required, with places available through our event booking page.
SUPPORTING THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION
As part of our Remembrance programme, match-worn shirts from both our Men's and Women's teams will be auctioned to raise funds for the Royal British Legion.
Fundraising collections and opportunities to purchase poppy merchandise will also be available throughout the campaign, helping to support the charity's work with the Armed Forces community.
LCFC WOMEN
LCFC Women will hold a Remembrance tribute ahead of their fixture against Watford on Sunday 8 November.
The pre-match ceremony will include wreath laying, the Last Post and a period of silence, with Royal British Legion fundraising collections taking place prior to kick-off.
Through these activities across our Men’s and Women’s teams, we’ll be joining clubs throughout the country in paying tribute to all those who have served and continue to serve.
