LCFC Women host Southampton this Sunday in Barclays WSL2
The two sides meet at King Power Stadium for a 3pm kick-off
Rick Passmoor provided a fitness update heading into the fixture
Olivia McLoughlin will be part of the matchday squad
Looking for a first win since a home success over Durham last month, the Foxes squad will be boosted by the return of midfielder McLoughlin, who played her first 45 minutes during last Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Watford in the Subway Players Cup.
Meanwhile, there have been a couple of absentees from training throughout the week due to flu, but the manager hopes to have them both back by Sunday afternoon on Filbert Way.
The midfielder is in contention to play this weekend.
“The hard bit at this time of year is the flu and other viral illnesses,” Passmoor explained. “Both Alisha [Lehmann] and Simone [Sherwood] have had time off the pitch to recover and start feeling better again.
“The one good thing is Liv McLoughlin is back in the team and with the group. She got a good 45 minutes last weekend and did well. You could see how well she did and what she brings to the team.
“She’ll be in the squad this Sunday against Southampton, and we’re looking forward to seeing her build her minutes over the coming weeks.”
