The Eagles emerged as victors in a battle between the top two in U18 Premier League South, opening up a three-point gap at the summit following their triumph at Copers Cope.

Mylo Bernard scored an early opener for the home side on debut, before Stuart Oduro doubled their advantage.

We halved the deficit via Bismark Owusu pulling one back midway through the first half, but Makai Bernard-Ferguson restored Palace’s two-goal lead soon after the interval.

David Angibeaud then all-but sealed it with five minutes of normal time to play, before Lorenz Hutchinson grabbed a late consolation for the Foxes.

Remaining second in the table, on 15 points from eight matches, Birmingham City are next up for the side coached by Adam Barradell, facing the Blues at LCFC Training Ground on Saturday (11am GMT kick-off).
