  • We take on Middlesbrough in the Sky Bet Championship this Tuesday evening
  • It comes three days on from defeat to Blackburn Rovers at King Power Stadium
  • Jordan James (back) and Victor Kristiansen (knee) were forced off during that clash
  • Jeremy Monga (illness) missed out, while Bobby De Cordova-Reid made his return
We host the Teessiders at King Power Stadium on Tuesday night (7:45pm GMT kick-off), aiming to return to winning ways following a first home defeat of the season at the weekend.
Speaking after that 2-0 loss to Blackburn Rovers, Cifuentes shared information on injury concerns within the camp, including Jordan James and Victor Kristiansen, who were both withdrawn during the second half of our most recent encounter.
“JJ (Jordan James) had to be subbed because he was struggling with his lower back and in a lot of pain,” City’s Manager explained on Saturday. “He was doing well but there was no sense to risk him because we have another game on Tuesday.
Cifuentes had De Cordova-Reid back available against Blackburn.

“Victor [Kristiansen] got a knock on his knee at 15 minutes and was struggling during the first half. At half-time he had to keep biking just to keep the knee warm. He couldn’t manage any more and some subs had to be done.”
Illness prevented young winger Jeremy Monga from being named in the matchday squad, while Bobby De Cordova-Reid’s minutes are being managed after he made his comeback from the bench against Blackburn.
The 43-year-old continued: “Jez (Jeremy Monga) was feeling better today (Saturday) but he was sick all week so we couldn’t involve him. Hopefully on Tuesday he will be fine.
“Bobby [De Cordova-Reid] was coming back from an injury. The sensible thing was to bring him on for only 15-25 minutes max. We try to take the best decisions constantly.”
