Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation to mark late Chairman’s 67th birthday
67 registered primary schools* closest to King Power Stadium to receive donation of football training equipment
Fans to receive complimentary beer or water before Newcastle United fixture on 7 April
Khun Vichai – the Club’s transformational leader from 2010 until his untimely passing in 2018 – would have turned 67 on 4 April 2025.
Among his fabled acts of kindness and generosity – including millions of pounds’ worth of donations to community institutions and modest local causes alike – Khun Vichai traditionally used his birthday as an opportunity to spread kindness among the Leicester City family and its surrounding communities. It is a tradition we are proud to maintain as part of our commitment to his legacy.
Therefore, to mark his 67th birthday, the Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation will be donating football training packs to the 67 registered primary schools* closest to King Power Stadium. This will include a selection of football training equipment including footballs, training bibs and kit bags to aid grassroots participation in the beautiful game for children of primary school age.
Eligible primary schools* will be contacted directly by the Club no later than 18 April to confirm further details for a targeted summer delivery.
Susan Whelan, Leicester City Chief Executive and Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation Trustee, said:“We have celebrated Khun Vichai’s birthday for many years now – both with Khun Vichai himself and in the years since his passing. It’s an important tradition we want to maintain to ensure generosity and community remain key parts of his legacy.
“Young people and football were among Khun Vichai’s many passions, so we’re delighted that, in 2025, we can make a commitment in his name that supports sports participation among children in our immediate vicinity.”
