We host Southampton in the EFL Championship on Tuesday evening (7:45pm kick-off)
Louis Page spoke to the Club’s official matchday publication, CITY, ahead of the game
The midfielder discussed the impact of the new signings and the development of his own game
Southampton will arrive at King Power Stadium on Tuesday (7:45pm kick-off) with the Foxes sitting above the relegation zone on goal difference ahead of the visit of the Saints.
Heading into the game off the back of three successive defeats, the latest a 2-1 reverse at Birmingham City on Saturday, this challenge represents an opportunity to get back on track on home soil.
“Us as players, we’ve obviously already seen [the new signings] in training and they’ve brought new energy and experience to the group,” the young midfielder told CITY Matchday Magazine. “The quality they’ve all got as well, it has been a really good boost for the team.
“We’ve come together and know what we can do. The four new additions that have come in will definitely help us in doing that.”
Page’s own journey into First Team contention this season has seen the 17-year-old clock up 14 Championship appearances during his maiden senior campaign, starting two of the last three.
“When you come on for 15-20 minutes, it’s about making sure you have a positive impact because you’re obviously not on for the full game,” he explained. “With each time, I think I improved and helped the team more and more. I feel like I deserved a start when it came.
“To keep my place even with the change of Manager, I’m obviously thankful to the staff for picking me and glad they continue to put their trust in me.”
