A fifth EFL League 2 start for the midfielder since his January loan move, he’ll have another opportunity to feature at home to Harrogate Town on Saturday (3pm kick-off). The Spireites sit a point outside the fourth-tier play-off positions.

Also in the division, Nathan Opoku started for Newport County in their goalless draw with Grimsby Town, playing 90 minutes at Rodney Parade.

The on-loan Foxes forward saw a penalty saved in the second half, before Grimsby missed a spot-kick of their own to see both sides claim a point in Wales.

Opoku has found the net four times in 16 League 2 matches so far this term.

County, managed by ex-City defender Christian Fuchs, remain embroiled in a relegation battle, sitting 23rd ahead of Wednesday’s trip to high-flying Swindon Town (8pm kick-off).

Town, who have young Leicester centre-back Tom Wilson-Brown in their ranks, recorded a 3-0 home victory over Oldham Athletic at the weekend to remain inside the automatic promotion spots. The 21-year-old played the opening 45 minutes at the County Ground.

In the Enterprise National League, Chris Popov was on the scoresheet for Morecambe but was unable to help prevent a 2-1 home reverse at the hands of Truro City. The Shrimps sit second from bottom prior to hosting Tamworth tomorrow (Tuesday) night, a 7:45pm kick-off.

Across to Europe, Woyo Coulibaly played half-an-hour for Sassuolo during their 5-0 home defeat to league leaders Inter Milan. A trip to Udinese is up next on Sunday (11:30am kick-off) for the side sitting 11th in Serie A.

Bilal El Khannouss started for fifth-place VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga, playing the first half of their 2-1 loss at St. Pauli over the weekend. Hosting Köln on Saturday, it’s a 5:30pm kick-off at MHP Arena.

Wout Faes returned from injury to be named in the matchday squad during Monaco’s goalless draw at Nice, leaving Les Monégasques 10th in Ligue 1. Nantes will head to Stade Louis II on Friday (8:05pm kick-off).

Back in the UK, Will Alves was an unused substitute as fifth-placed Huddersfield Town played out to 2-2 draw with Blackpool at Accu Stadium. Attention turns to the Vertu Trophy tomorrow (Tuesday), hosting Doncaster Rovers in the quarter-finals (7pm kick-off).

Henry Cartwright remained on the bench throughout Falkirk’s Scottish Cup Fifth Round triumph over Stenhousemuir, winning 2-0 after extra-time. Dundee visit Falkirk Stadium back in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday night (7:45pm kick-off).
