Donate food items at King Power Stadium this December
Drop-offs at Brighton & Hove Albion (8 December) and Chelsea (14 December) fixtures
If you’re heading to King Power Stadium for LCFC Men’s game with Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday 8 December or LCFC Women’s match against Chelsea on Saturday 14 December, please bring along some food items and drop them off at one of our donation points. Together, we can help make a real difference to people in our city and county who might be struggling this festive season.
FareShare Midlands, who distribute food to local charities and community organisations, are doing amazing work in Leicester. Every week, they help more than 5,000 people through food banks and have already provided the equivalent of 900,000 meals across the city since November 2023. With your support, we can help them reach even more families this Christmas. Here’s what you need to know:
LCFC Men vs. Brighton (8 December): Donation points at each stand, open from 11am
LCFC Women vs. Chelsea (14 December): Donation point outside the North Stand, open from 10am
We’re looking for in-date, non-perishable food items, such as:
Tinned fish, meat, or pies
Cooking sauces, tinned vegetables, and baked beans
Rice, pasta, noodles, and pulses
Tea bags, instant coffee, and UHT milk
Tinned fruit, preserves, and cereals
Please don’t bring alcohol, pet food, cleaning supplies, fresh produce, or chilled/frozen items.
If you can’t bring food but still want to help, we’ll have a QR code at the donation points so you can make a quick and easy contribution to Leicester City in the Community’s food poverty projects.
Leicester City Ambassador Alan Birchenall said: “This Christmas, as part of our Festive Charity Drive, we have an opportunity to show our spirit and togetherness by supporting those who are struggling during these challenging times.
“I’m encouraging all our incredible fans to bring food items to games against Brighton and Chelsea, as every donation, however big or small, will go directly to food banks across our city, helping families and individuals in need.”
FareShare Midlands Chief Executive, Simone Connolly, added: "At FareShare Midlands, we’re working alongside local charities and community organisations to ensure no family goes to bed hungry, cold or anxious about how they’ll get through the next day.
"We’re incredibly grateful to Leicester City and Leicester City in the Community for their generosity in hosting these food drives. Their kindness, combined with the incredible support of fans, has the power to change lives this Christmas. Every single donation will help bring a little festive joy to those who need it most."
This is your chance to make a real impact and help spread some Christmas cheer to those who need it most. Thank you, Blue Army – let’s make this Festive Charity Drive a huge success!
