Going into the clash on the back of a 3-1 success over Plymouth Argyle in the Premier League Cup and a 0-0 draw at non-league Sutton United in the National League Cup, with 10 men, the early signs have been promising for the young side coached by Leon McSweeney.
Monday’s trip to Manchester, though, was a tough evening for our young Foxes, who fell behind to Shea Lacey’s opener in the 14th minute.
We did equalise at Progress With Unity Stadium, as Bobby Amartey restored parity just before the half-hour mark, but Lacey swiftly put the young Red Devils back in front.
Goals from Amir Ibragimov and Joseph Gabriel, at the end of each half, settled the result in our PL2 opener, with us back in PL Cup action against AFC Bournemouth at LCFC Training Ground on Friday (7pm BST kick-off).
