The Teesside club are next up for the Foxes in the Sky Bet Championship on Tuesday night (7:45pm GMT kick-off), with Cifuentes’ side looking to climb the table during the coming weeks, with us 14th as things stand.
‘Togetherness key’
Leicester City
Following three straight league defeats, the Spaniard acknowledged that no one is happy with our run of form, but wants everyone to remain as one unit, in order to reverse current fortunes on the pitch.
“As a manager, I’m here to help my players, and get the best out of them, that’s my job,” he commented ahead of Boro arriving in Leicestershire. “It’s not easy for some players and perhaps one bad action can trigger a different feeling. That’s the situation we’re in now.
“We need to be better and I want to bring good results for the fans, so obviously it’s very disappointing to be in this situation now. I understand the frustrations of the fans. It’s not been good enough.
“From day one, I said fans have the right to be angry when we lose. We need to stick together and give them something back and to get them out of this difficult moment as a team.
“We need to stand firm, be accountable to how we respond and raise the level that we are offering at the moment, because I think that this Club has the potential to be much better than what we are doing.
“I have experienced difficult moments in clubs, sometimes getting to clubs in trouble and helping them to get away from those moments, and the only way to go is togetherness, that’s the key part. It’s about staying closer, staying together. We’re trying.”
'Changing momentum'

One result could flip the whole mood around, he believes, and heading back to Filbert Way once more, just three days on from Saturday’s 2-0 home defeat to Blackburn Rovers, City’s Manager sees this as a chance to quickly banish the demons of a disappointing outcome.
“Now we have the opportunity on Tuesday and we need to react strongly,” the 43-year-old continued. “The only way I know is to work harder, work smarter and try to improve. I expect much more from these players, we need to show more.
“You need to change the dynamics and the only way you do it is working harder and believing and staying together, making sure we show better than what we have been doing.
“Momentum is a big part of successful teams so when things go your way it’s very easy to show up, but when it doesn’t, you need to respond and manage this. I’m 100 per cent committed to changing things.
“I’m trying to change certain things that I think will help us to be successful in the future. Change usually takes some time but that’s the process that we’re in and we cannot now crumble because things have not gone our way at the start of the season.”
‘Be well prepared’

Rob Edwards’ side have made a positive start to the campaign, currently second in the Championship having lost for just the second time this term at Watford on Saturday and will provide another stern opposition.
“It’s a team who have started really well,” Cifuentes said in his analysis of Tuesday’s visitors. “They have changed their style a little bit compared to last season. They’ve got a good manager at this level who has brought them some tactical flexibility.
“They change, from game to game, the formation and even the approach. They have some good players and obviously we need to be very well prepared and show a good level of performance if we want to get the three points.
“We always try to improve things and look at ourselves. There is no hiding after today, with the run of results.”
