  • We host Wrexham AFC at King Power Stadium on Tuesday (7:45pm kick-off)
  • Manager Martí Cifuentes wants Leicester City to start turning draws into wins after three stalemates in a row
  • He has praised Wrexham’s rise through the leagues and the manner they have adapted to the Sky Bet Championship
  • With the backing of the Blue Army, though, he’s confident in our ability to get a victory on the board
The Red Dragons are due in Leicester for a 7:45pm kick-off on Tuesday evening on the back of three successive draws for the Foxes – all games with their positives for Cifuentes, but the Manager wants to see draws turn into victories.
Newly-promoted Wrexham arrived back into the Championship this summer on the back of three successive promotions, all the way from the National League, and Phil Parkinson’s men have once again strengthened well to try and acclimatise to a higher level.
Cifuentes has no doubts that Wrexham will pose another stern challenge for City, but with an unbeaten 25/26 home record to defend, he’s eying three points on Filbert Way.
“They’re a team that has done really well over the last couple of seasons,” the Manager said. “It’s definitely a great journey and now they have signed really well.

“They have good players, so I’m expecting a difficult game, but I think the feeling inside the squad and the changing room was very clear [after Friday’s 1-1 draw at West Brom] that in some way we’re happy to get a least a point but at the same time disappointed.
“This team should always aim for the three points, so we have to have a strong performance at home, to make sure these last draws start to feel better if we get some wins in a row. The main thing for me at the end [at West Brom] was that our fans were quite happy that we could score. To celebrate that goal with them was important. Hopefully we can give them the three points on Tuesday.”
Looking more closely at Wrexham, Cifuentes credited Parkinson’s men for the way they have already adapted to the Championship, but with the backing of the Blue Army in LE2, he’s looking for a win on Tuesday to climb the table.
“They’ve got a good balance between [new players and] players from last season,” he added. “When a team gets promoted, it’s on a good trend, so that helps with confidence.
“They’ve got some quality players at Championship level, some experienced players at this level. They’re getting good results as well at the moment with strong performances."
