  • LCFC Women are entering the Adobe Women’s FA Cup this weekend
  • The Foxes host Stoke City at Meadow Lane on Sunday (1pm kick-off)
  • The fourth round tie is set to come too soon for Sam Tierney and Lena Petermann
  • Deanne Rose will also be absent having suffered an injury in the final game of 2024
The Potters are the visitors to Meadow Lane for the fourth round tie (1pm kick-off), which sees the Foxes begin their FA Cup campaign at this stage of the competition, against third tier opposition, with tickets available to purchase on the gate.
Ahead of making the short trip to Nottingham, City’s Manager confirmed that long-term absentees Sam Tierney and Lena Petermann are unlikely to be risked this weekend, as both continue to recover.
Tierney has not featured since suffering an ankle injury against Brighton & Hove Albion in early November, while Petermann is yet to play in 2024/25 due to a knee complaint.
The Canadian forward had to be replaced just 11 minutes into the final game of 2024.

“I’ve no precise schedule for [them] coming back, because we go training by training,” the 40-year-old told reporters in Friday’s pre-match press conference. “But obviously, the more we can get back faster, the better.
“But we’re letting natural things happen and not rushing, so that when we do get them back, we don’t lose them straight away again, so we’re taking our time. We never know but whenever they feel ready and confident enough to play, they will.”
Deanne Rose, meanwhile, picked up a muscle injury in the 1-1 draw with Chelsea prior to the winter break, and remains on the sidelines, with Miquel unable to provide a timeframe for her return as of yet.
“She is not available right now,” she explained. “The duration is the same. It depends on the body healing and we’ll see how long it takes. I do not know the precise extent of it but it will take quite a moment.”

The likes of Nelly Las and Simone Sherwood, on the other hand, have both been handed minutes in the First Team this term, particularly during the Women’s League Cup campaign, but while the French Manager is not opposed to handing further opportunities to youngsters from the Academy, there are other factors at play as City return to action in the New Year.
Miquel added: “It’s a different situation because it is the first game back from the holidays. In the previous cup competitions, we could rotate players to rest them.
“Now it’s also about giving a warm-up and a first game to get rhythm to the players that we need to play the first WSL games. It’s not as easy to put young players in. Not because we don’t trust them, because we do fully. It will be a mix.”
