Yuka Momiki & Saori Takarada lifted the SheBelieves Cup with Japan
There was UEFA Women’s Nations League action for Wales, Belgium, Scotland and Iceland

Chantelle Swaby and Karla Torres have also featured
Breaking away for international duty in 2025, it’s been a mixed bag of emotions for our players, who head back to Belvoir Drive to join up with the preparations for Manchester United this Sunday (12:30pm GMT kick-off).
Starting off with silverware, it’s been a dream return to the Japanese national team for Momiki and Saori Takarada, who featured, and started in the final, for their country in the SheBelieves Cup. Ending the break with silverware.
City’s midfield maestro, Momiki, broke the deadlock just two minutes in against USA, as Takarada played a full 90 to help see out the victory.
Closer to home, the UEFA Women’s Nations League got started for our European Foxes; Hannah Cain and Olivia Clark both playing twice for Wales as they drew 1-1 with Sweden following a narrow loss to Italy, while winter signing Hlín Eiríksdóttir featured in both of Iceland’s games which ended in a goalless draw with Switzerland before losing out to France. In action for the Belgium Red Flames.
Janice Cayman and Sari Kees couldn’t help prevent Belgium from suffering consecutive defeats, as two injury-time goals from Spain last Friday completed an unlikely comeback for the hosts. The Red Flames' defeat to Portugal leaves them bottom of League A Group 3. Sophie Howard also was on the wrong end of the scoreline on both occasions, losing out to Austria, in which the City defender was withdrawn after 20 minutes, before playing the full 90 in a 2-1 reverse to the Netherlands. Playing for the Colombia senior squad.
Having just arrived in Leicestershire, Karla Torres jetted off to join up with the Colombia national team to take part in the SheBelieves Cup. Unfortunately losing in both games she played in, the 18-year-old featured heavily against USA and Japan, with the minutes aiding to the youngster’s development.
With Ruby Mace an unused substitute in both of England’s games, in which they drew 1-1 with Portugal before beating Spain 1-0 at Wembley on Wednesday evening, the last Fox to play was Chantelle Swaby, who got game time for Jamaica in their friendly wins over Peru.
