Scoring an eighth-minute opener at Rodney Parade, success for Christian Fuchs’ side over bottom-place Harrogate saw the Welsh outfit move four points clear of the bottom two ahead of heading to Cheltenham Town on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
Staying in the fourth tier, Sammy Braybrooke and Jayden Joseph, meanwhile, were on opposite sides as Chesterfield and Tranmere Rovers played out a 1-1 draw. Both Foxes youngsters played out 90 minutes at SMH Group Stadium.
The Spireites sit seventh, with another home fixture against Grimsby Town to come tomorrow (Tuesday), a 7:45pm kick-off. Tranmere, currently in 20th, host Bristol Rovers on Saturday (3pm kick-off), meanwhile.
In the Scottish Premiership, Henry Cartwright made a short cameo for Falkirk in a 6-3 Scottish Premiership reverse at home to Rangers, playing the final nine minutes at Falkirk Stadium. The Bairns are in Scottish Cup Semi-Final action against Dunfermline on Saturday (12:30 kick-off).

Forward Chris Popov played 85 minutes for Morecambe in a 5-1 defeat away at Woking, which saw the Shrimps relegated to the National League North. Jim Bentley’s side host Boreham Wood in their next league fixture on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
Over in Germany, Bilal El Khannouss played 19 minutes for VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga, scoring his side's fourth goal in a 4-0 home success over Hamburg, which sees Die Roten sit third in the table, with a trip to league leaders Bayern Munich to follow on Sunday (4:30pm kick-off).
Wout Faes played 90 minutes for AS Monaco in a 4-1 Ligue 1 defeat away to Paris FC at Stade Jean-Bouin on Friday night. Remaining seventh in the division, it’s Auxerre up next at Stade Louis II this Sunday (2pm kick-off).
Woyo Coulibaly was introduced as a 68th-minute substitute during Sassuolo’s 2-1 reverse at Genoa over the weekend. Sitting 11th in Serie A, Como are the visitors to Mapei Stadium on Friday (5:30pm kick-off).
