It was a bad day at the office for the Foxes who finished off a busy week with a Barclays WSL2 loss to Newcastle at Gateshead International Stadium.

Admitting that it wasn’t a good enough performance to warrant taking anything from the game, he is looking for a response when we take on Sunderland away from home next weekend.

“It was a very tired display,” Passmoor told us. “I’m not having the excuse that it was a third game in a week, but it was against a team that are galvanised and we were second best.

City lost out to Newcastle on the road.

“It’s disappointment and frustration, but it’s about bouncing back and our mentality on that.

“We will look back on the game today because we looked very lethargic and second best, so we need to prepare and be ready for Sunderland next weekend.

“We were outbattled and outfought, they moved the ball quicker, were quicker to close us down and importantly they won the duels today.

“It’s a simple reminder for us that you have to be the best version of yourself in every game you play. You cannot get by putting in seven out 10 and today they were the better team.”

Three second half goals from Newcastle, including a quick-fire brace from Martha Thomas, put the game out of reach for us on Sunday.

We're back in the North East next Sunday to tackle Sunderland.

Talking more on what he hopes his side will learn from the defeat, he thanked the fans who made the trip to the North East to be with us and believes they will continue to have a role to play in the coming weeks.

Passmoor added: “I think it’s about mentality and our psychology, because you’ve seen so many positive signs this season, so we need to keep working on our understanding of the game plan and philosophy. But most importantly, we need to bring our best game forward.

“The players really appreciate the fans who come and back us all across the country and we’ll be looking to them again next week to help us get a result.
