It’s now four Sky Bet Championship draws on the bounce for the Foxes, with Tuesday’s 1-1 stalemate at home to Wrexham leaving us inside the top six ahead of Saturday’s trip to Swansea City. Assessing the fine margins in this division, the forward believes turning draws into wins is a necessity in the coming weeks, requiring full focus for the 90 minutes.
“We just have to do better in managing the game,” the Zambian analysed following Tuesday’s result. “There is a lot of positives to take, but a lot to learn. I think we just have to be relentless, we have keep going and that’s how we’re going to win games.
“We need to analyse the game; we need to sit down and have to realise that we have to do more in order for us to win games in this league. It’s a difficult league, there’s a lot of games to play, and we have to do everything we can to get three points. A point is not enough.
“We just have to keep working and see how we can do better in the next games.”
Reflecting further on the Red Dragons’ late equaliser in midweek, which prevented City claiming all three points on Filbert Way, the 26-year-old admitted there was huge disappointment in the dressing room which must now fuel the group to push forward.
“This point feels like a loss to be honest,” he continued. “We could have done more. We were too relaxed, I think. We were naïve leading 1-0, I think. We were in control of the game, but it’s always dangerous when you’re leading 1-0, anything can happen.
“And we saw what happened at the end. It’s really frustrating, to be honest. We know it’s a point that we’re gaining but for a team with our quality, we need to be getting three points. There’s no excuses.
“They were compact, playing five at the back. There was no space, but we have to find different alternatives to find the back of the net. We need to put more pressure on and balls in the box, that’s how we can score.
“Just playing at the back is not going to get us goals so we just have to make sure that, whatever we do, we find ourselves in the box and try to score goals.
“In the first half, we had so many great opportunities for us to kill the game, but it was just unfortunate that we couldn’t score more than one.”
A first league start in 25/26 for Daka, who was influential in Jordan James’ first-half goal, he is now eager to contribute further.
“It’s always good to be back out there, but it just wasn’t enough,” he added. “I hoped I could have done better to help the team get three points.”
