The Gunners are due in LE2 for a 12:30pm kick-off on Saturday and a familiar foe will be waiting for them on Filbert Way, Jamie Vardy.
The Foxes striker has scored more top-flight goals against Arsenal than he has versus any other opponent (11). Only Harry Kane (14) and Wayne Rooney (12) have netted more against the north Londoners in the PL.
The head-to-head form guide, though, doesn't make encouraging reading, with Mikel Arteta's men winning the last six of these encounters. Before that run, meanwhile, we were successful on four out of six meetings.
It promises to be an intriguing match-up between two sides with different targets and, ahead of the game, here's some more stats from yesteryear...
Last league encounter
  • Arsenal 4 (Martinelli, Trossard, Ndidi (OG), Havertz) Leicester City 2 (Justin 2)
  • 28/09/2024
  • Premier League

Last FA Cup tie

  • 23/09/2020
  • Third Round

The last time

Leicester post-war hat-tricks: None. Arsenal post-war hat-tricks: Dennis Bergkamp, Nicolas Anelka, Thierry Henry, Alexis Sánchez.
David Halliday, later to become City's Manager, rattled in four goals in this fixture in April 1930, only to be dropped from Arsenal's FA Cup Final team a week later. Archie Gardiner also scored his goals in March 1934, just seven days after his four-goal Foxes' debut away to Portsmouth.

Both David Halliday and Jimmy Bloomfield scored for Arsenal against City and later went on to manage the Foxes.
