Only on one occasion in the last eight years have City not emerged past the fourth round stage of the FA Cup, although an away day at Man Utd is a tough proposition for any team.
One reason for that, aside from the fact the Red Devils have won the tournament 13 times, can be found in the fact they have won 16 of their last 18 home ties.
The last visiting team to win at Old Trafford was Arsenal back in March 2015.
There is, of course, the oddity this season of Man Utd having already hosted us twice before. Another strange quirk saw Ruud van Nistelrooy, the current City Manager, in the home dugout for each of those games. The Red Devils were winners on both occasions, once in the Premier League and the other in the Carabao Cup.
Man Utd and Leicester have only met in the FA Cup three times before this tie, including the 1963 final. Our only win came in 2021, on the way to us lifting the trophy for the first-ever time, as Kelechi Iheanacho's brace and a long-range hit from Youri Tielemans saw us through.
In the build-up to this next encounter with Man Utd, here’s some of the key numbers…
Last league encounter
  • Manchester United 3 Leicester City 0 (10/11/2024)
  • Goalscorers: Fernandes, Garnacho, Kristiansen (OG)
  • Premier League
Before scoring the goal which won us the FA Cup, Youri Tielemans also found the net against Man Utd in the last-eight.

Leading goalscorers
Ken Keyworth is our top goalscorer in games against the Red Devils, with nine strikes to his name. Denis Law, on the other hand, hit 13 goals against us over the years, making him United’s top scorer in this fixture.
Incidentally, Arthur Lochhead netted for both clubs against one another (four for Man Utd and two for City). Wes Morgan, on the other hand, has less conventionally scored for both, but will remember his header in 2016 more fondly than the own goal a year earlier.
Ruud van Nistelrooy, now our Manager, hit three goals in Leicester back in 2003.
