The 20-year-old played 22 minutes of the contest at One Call Stadium, which set up a fourth round meeting with Premier League Fulham, before starting the Latics’ 2-1 victory over Stevenage back in EFL League 1 on Saturday.
Tuesday night saw Wigan beaten by Burton Albion, however, falling to a 2-1 home defeat, with the young midfielder introduced on 55 minutes – his 28th appearance of the campaign across all competitions.
Shaun Maloney’s side, sitting 17th, are back at Brick Community Stadium on Saturday to face Bristol Rovers (3pm kick-off), who sit one place and two points behind them in the table.
In the Vanarama National League, meanwhile, goalkeeper Brad Young was an unused substitute as Hartlepool United secured a 1-1 draw away at Wealdstone United at the weekend.
Woking are next up for the Pools at Victoria Park on Saturday (3pm kick-off), when the 22-year-old shot-stopper will be hoping to make his 11th league appearance for the North East outfit, who current lie 13th, on 37 points from their 26 matches.
