  • Leicester City were beaten 3-0 by Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday
  • Three first-half goals did the damage at King Power Stadium
  • Ruud van Nistelrooy shared his thoughts on a disappointing afternoon
Goals from Gonçalo Guedes, Rodrigo Gomes and Matheus Cunha inside the opening 45 minutes condemned van Nistelrooy to a first home reverse of his tenure, with Leicester now positioned just two points above Wolves in the final relegation spot after being ruthlessly punished for errors at the back.
The 48-year-old commented: “I would say that the three moments that we conceded the goals were probably individual moments that occurred and individual mistakes. That’s hard to play against.
“The players that were involved in the goals know, and we also conceded in expected goals in the first half and then conceded three. That’s a hard one to take, especially for the players.

“Of course, that was at half-time, but after that the players reacted to the second half and it was a lot different, but they bounced back, they kept fighting, they kept going. And that’s the most important thing.”
City have already showed character to recover from difficult moments this season and now, following back-to-back defeats to Newcastle United and now Vítor Pereira’s new side, a similar mentality is required, according to the Manager.
The 48-year-old added: “This is going to be a long run this season and every game that we are going to play is a new one. After a win, a draw or a loss, we will prepare for the same things and that’s to get better. Of course, in the way we want to play and what we want to achieve.
“We’re getting to know each other, and, secondly, in spirit and effort. In that sense, nobody let me down today. It’s clear and we know that we need to get everything right, including from set pieces, to get results.
“We need composure in certain moments, decision-making, and in our own box and the final third. That’s where games get decided and that showed today.”
