Leicester City head to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday (2pm kick-off)
Ruud van Nistelrooy provided an update on the availability of Woyo Coulibaly
Wilfred Ndidi, Mads Hermansen and Abdul Fatawu remain on the treatment table
French defender Coulibaly awaits his Leicester City debut after joining the Foxes earlier this month and the full-back could make his bow for the Club against Spurs this weekend, the Manager confirmed, as we get set to face the Lilywhites in a 2pm kick-off at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. “He had a very good start of this week,” the 48-year-old commented on Friday morning. “He’s part of team training and he will be today and tomorrow. All being well he will be part of the squad on Sunday.”
Also offering updates on injured trio Wilfred Ndidi, Mads Hermansen and Abdul Fatawu, while none of those will be involved in this Sunday’s Premier League action, all three are on the right track, van Nistelrooy explained. The Nigeria midfielder had to be withdrawn during the clash with Brighton & Hove Albion in December.
The Dutchman continued: “The players that were available against Fulham are available at this moment for Spurs on Sunday. Wilf is making good progress in his rehabilitation. Hopefully he can be a part of team training at some point next week.
“Mads’ situation is that he is in his recovery programme to get back to team training. He is making good steps of progress, but he needs to make some further steps to become part of team training and play games.
“I can’t yet say, but it’s getting a lot closer to a possible mention of a return date. That’s how good he is going now, so hopefully by next week there are more updates on him.”
“He (Fatawu) is very good. We know what we’re looking at with a cruciate injury, how long it will take. He is taking steps. We know the length of the injury; it’s not on the short term.”
