The 20-year-old is set to get a maiden taste of first team football at the Scottish Premiership club for the remainder of 2024/25 and test himself in a senior environment, having cemented a place in the Development Squad over the course of the last two seasons.
An injury setback led to a spell on the sidelines at the beginning of this campaign, but, returning stronger than ever, the centre-back has long-term ambitions of making his mark with the Foxes having risen through the ranks. Right now, however, he is concentrating on his next step in Scotland.
“I’m delighted,” our young defender commented upon signing his new deal, which runs until 2026. “It’s a good way to start the year and hopefully I can kick on. I’ve been here for 11 years now and it’s a dream for anyone who has been here for this long. First team experience is definitely the priority now, and going to get some experience [on loan].
The defender has been at LCFC since the age of nine.

“It was a difficult start getting an injury in the first game of the season, but since coming back, it’s been really positive. I’ve played a lot of games over the past three or four months and I just want to continue doing that. There’s no better feeling than when you’re playing well and consistently. Hopefully that can carry on.
“I think those (EFL Trophy) games are vital because they give you a taste of men’s football and it makes you hungrier. You want that on a weekly basis and that’s definitely something I’m looking forward to in the next few months.”
Training with Ruud van Nistelrooy’s First Team on a regular basis, as well as being named in the matchday squad for December’s visit of Manchester City, Wilson-Brown has taken a lot from those experiences, which were earned through solid performances in the Under-21s.
It's a chance to prove himself at senior level, Wilson-Brown believes.

He explained: “Especially learning from the new Manager, he’s experienced so much in the game, and I learn so much from him every day. He was obviously a striker and has played against a lot of top defenders over his career as well.
“We’ve got international defenders who play week in, week out and are always selected for their countries. You learn things from them and the coaching staff every single day, just being around them.
“And recently, travelling to Liverpool and being on the bench against Man City – two teams that have dominated in this country for the last five years – those experiences have been amazing, so hopefully it can continue.”

Sacrifices are often a part of many young players’ journey across the age groups and Wilson-Brown is no different. He is focused on striving towards further improvement in the coming months to make the most of his opportunity.
The youngster explained: “I’m not from Leicester so when I was seven, eight, nine, it was an hour-and-a-half up and down the M1 on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night. It was a lot of travelling.
“They (my parents) had to sacrifice a lot picking me up from school every day and being out of the house from 7am to 10pm three or four days a week. It was hard but hopefully I’m repaying them now and showing them it was worth it. I’m sure they will looking forward to that (his debut) just as much as me.”
