The Denmark international sat out Saturday’s 6-2 Emirates FA Cup triumph over Queens Park Rangers, but has trained with his Foxes team-mates in Seagrave this week.

We welcome Palace to King Power Stadium for a 7:30pm kick-off on Wednesday, before a third home outing in seven days on Saturday, with Fulham due in the East Midlands.

So long as Vestergaard comes through training with no further issues, van Nistelrooy is hopeful that the EFL Championship title-winner could be in the matchday squad.

“He was a part of team training today (Monday),” the Manager told the media.

“I’m expecting he can be there if all goes well today. If he is fine tomorrow, I expect him to be there on Wednesday with the squad. There’s no [other] news on injuries.”
