Walking footballers play fixture on Filbert Way
Event was supported by the Club’s Principal Partner, BC.GAME
Walking football is for people aged 55 and over to stay active, socialise and enjoy the game
Players were given the unique opportunity to step out onto the pitch to enjoy a small-sided match, with the Club’s Principal Partner, BC.GAME, helping to make the occasion possible.
As part of BC.GAME’s support, branded shirts were also given to each player, ensuring they could take to the pitch in style and leave with a keepsake from a memorable day.
Walking football continues to play an important role in Leicester City in the Community’s programme delivery, providing inclusive opportunities for people aged 55 and over to stay active, socialise and enjoy the game in a fun and welcoming environment.
Beyond the physical benefits, the programme is a wonderful social activity, offering participants the chance to connect with others, build friendships and help to reduce social isolation.
This event for our walking footballers formed part of our Play on the Pitch offering, which allows groups and participants the rare opportunity to experience matchday surroundings before taking to the pitch themselves. From emerging grassroots sides to community groups and corporate teams, the experience offers a truly special day at King Power Stadium.
