Olivia McLoughlin made her first appearance of the season at The Hive Stadium
Picking up an ankle injury towards the end of pre-season, the industrious midfielder has been made to wait for her first appearance of the campaign and earned 45 minutes during Saturday’s draw with the Hornets.
Looking as though she had never been away, the 22-year-old registered the assist for Araya Dennis’ opener and was proud to have an impact on the match.
The midfielder made her first appearance of the season against Watford.
“It’s disappointing in how it’s finished, but there are a lot of positives and a lot to take into the upcoming games, and a lot to learn from,” McLoughlin told us at full-time.
“I’m honestly so happy to be out there, I’ve worked so hard during my rehab to be back on the pitch, and credit to the medical team and everyone for getting me back.
“It feels great to get my first appearance of the season, so I’m really happy.”
Wanting to push on now, the midfielder saw enough from the Foxes to determine that we can turn things around and start to pick up more wins, ahead of busy period leading up to the winter break.
“There’s a lot of positives in front of goal, one from a set-piece too which we’ve been working on, so a lot of positives in that area,” McLoughlin added.
“We’ve got to tidy up on a few things at the back and try to not let them score easy goals but if we do then I believe we’ll start to turn things around over the season.”
